Amanda McDonnell

Amanda joined Harvard University in 2007 and serves as the University Controller. Amanda leads a team of professionals that are responsible for University-wide accounting, financial reporting, management of the external audit relationship, tax reporting and operations, payroll, financial policy, student financial services and faculty and employee loans.

Prior to her role as University Controller, Amanda was the Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting in the Office of the Controller and before that was the Manager of Strategic Planning within Harvard’s Risk Management and Audit Services department where she assisted in creating and instituting an Institutional Risk Management program. Prior to working for Harvard, Amanda was a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she served many audit clients within the higher education industry and the private sector.

Amanda holds a bachelor’s of science degree in math and economics from St. Lawrence University and an MBA from Boston University.
