Maureen is the University Controller. She manages the Office of the Controller (OC) which is comprised of the following six teams: Financial Accounting and Reporting; Student Financial Services; Tax Reporting and Payroll Processing; University Accounts Receivable Services; Financial Policy; and Mortgage and Educational Loans. Maureen joined Harvard in September of 2009.
Just prior to coming to Harvard, Maureen worked for American Tower Corporation as a Vice President for Finance where she had direct responsibility for billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. While at American Tower, she also partnered on a variety of strategic projects including financial reporting and systems implementation. Prior to American Tower, Maureen spent 11 years in senior management positions at Staples, Inc., including Vice President of Supply Chain, Vice President and Controller of the U.S. Retail Business Unit, and Vice President and General Auditor. Prior to Staples, Maureen worked for many years in the financial services industry, with a primary emphasis on lending transactions.
Maureen began her career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, where she became a Certified Public Accountant. She graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management.
